1 Why escrow exists
Homeowners keep a record. Pros keep a record. Neither side should send an e-transfer to a personal account. When Stripe ships, card details stay with Stripe at booking.
2 What “paid” means
A quoted deposit is not a payout. If you are a pro, Earnings shows quotes you sent. There is no live hold or withdrawal today. We will not invent a payout history to make the cabinet look busy.
3 Refunds
Cancel free up to 24 hours before the visit. After work starts, a person reviews the job if you report a problem. Write Contact or hello@handnorth.com. The public rules are on Cancellation.
Questions people ask
- Can I pay cash on the day?
- No. Cash off-platform is not how HandNorth works. It leaves both sides without a job record. Stripe escrow is on the way.
- Is the deposit the same in the U.S.?
- The escrow idea stays. The tax inside the all-in number will follow the city we open, not Quebec GST+QST.
