Does HandNorth take a cut of the completed job?
HandNorth does not take a percentage of the completed job. The homeowner’s all-in number is the work plus Quebec GST and QST. Posting a project is free. We do not add a homeowner commission, a lead fee at hire, or a “cash on the side” discount that hides a cut. Professionals pay for access: Starter $29, Growth $59 or Pro $99 per month in CAD on the application file. New Pros get six months at $0 on that first file, then the package they picked. Business is a conversation, not self-serve, and is not on intro. Card billing is on the way — we will not pretend a Stripe subscription is live today. A job is not a shared lead: one post, quotes, one hire. Access is the plan, not a pack of contacts sold to three neighbouring vans. See Pricing for the public numbers. A visit that holds a calendar is still Greater Montreal.

Who pays HandNorth?
Professionals. The marketplace is access: cities, job opportunities, a public listing, messages. That access sits on a plan. The money for the visit stays between the homeowner and the hired pro — we do not take a slice of that cabinet.

Why this matters on a quote
If a platform takes 15–20% of the job, the all-in number has to absorb it or the pro has to collect it later. HandNorth does not put that pressure on the visit. The pro prices the work. The homeowner compares that number. Tax is tax. Access is the plan.

What the homeowner pays, in one line
The hired visit: labour plus Quebec tax at 14.975% in live cities. Posting is free. There is no homeowner membership, no booking fee, no “cash discount” that hides a cut. Extra work is a change order. All-in price is the page for that number. Stripe card pay is on the way — a booking request does not take a card today.
