To work on HandNorth you apply with your name, trade, city, licence and insurance. In Quebec that includes an RBQ number when the work is regulated, plus CNESST where it applies. After you submit, you get a Work cabinet — job opportunities, messages and earnings. A public Find-a-pro profile is not automatic.
1 The file we review
- Government ID
- RBQ for regulated building work in Quebec, or a clear “not required”
- Liability insurance (insurer and coverage limit)
- CNESST when the crew is covered
- The cities you actually drive — Montreal, Laval, Longueuil and neighbours first
Apply on Become a pro. We review documents before the first booking. We will not invent a “verified on” stamp or a lead-multiplier claim.
2 How you get paid
The homeowner sees one all-in number: the work plus tax. There is no commission to add on top. When Stripe escrow is live, funds will release after the visit is marked done. Today there is no card hold. T4A slips and a downloadable tax pack are on the way — we will not generate a fake one.
3 United States
When a U.S. city opens, the same idea applies with that state’s licence and insurance. Until then, a U.S. application is a wait for a live market, not a hidden listing.

- No. Find a pro shows the four public catalog companies. Your Work cabinet is separate until a public profile exists.
- Are HandNorth pros employees?
- No. They are independent contractors. HandNorth is the marketplace.
